Waller St Campus

Waller St Campus is a Prep to Year 4 site with an average annual enrolment of 165 students across seven classrooms. In 2023 we have one Prep, two Grade 1/2 and four Grade 3/4 classes.

We pride ourselves on nurturing our students. We get to know each student extremely well and work with parents & families as partners to ensure that every student has the opportunity to learn at their level of need.

With a strong Literacy and Numeracy focus our teachers work in teams across our Avon and Waller Campuses to ensure the best academic and social & emotional outcomes for every child.   Our specialist subject areas this year are Art, Physical Education, Indonesian and Music. Our campus also provides a Before & After School and Vacation Care program.

The Waller campus facilities include the traditional school building with nine classroom spaces, a dedicated IT Room and an Art Room. We also have a 3/4 hub featuring 4 additional classrooms and a multipurpose space used for school assemblies. Other facilities at the school include a Library, After School Care room and an amazing Kitchen and Garden complete with pizza oven. We have a large playground with a number of areas of play equipment, basketball courts and an oval.

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program has been running in our school for over 10 years. The aim of this enriching program is to deliver regular kitchen and garden classes, enabling skills-based learning that extends across the entire school curriculum. Year 3/4 students participate in weekly kitchen and garden classes where they learn skills that will last them a lifetime and discover how much fun it is to grow and cook their own seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Additional opportunities are provided through our Camps & Excursion Programs – Year 2 students sleepover at school and our Year 3/4 students participate in three nights at Fifteen Mile Creek Camp. Excursions regularly include Mansfield Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, Scienceworks and the Melbourne Museum. We also offer a swimming program Prep-Year 4.

Our intervention programs include literacy and wellbeing, and are supported by our student wellbeing officer.   We also work in partnership with Tomorrow Today with the ‘Reading Buddies’ program and our Prep transition program ‘Great Start to School’.

Students and families enjoy many celebrations and organised activities throughout the year such as our weekly Campus Assembly, Student Leadership Group, Year 4 Campus Leaders, Book Week, 100 Days of Prep, Athletics Sports, Cross Country, Artist in Residence, Spring Harvest Festival, and Literacy & Numeracy Week.

We have a strong focus on providing a caring, safe and orderly learning environment and we are proud of the education we provide to our students. We strongly encourage you to become involved in whatever way you feel best fits your family. Teaching and raising children is a team effort!
